FYB Student Program Associate

First-Year Bridge Program

The First-Year Bridge program is designed to provide first-year students with the support needed to have a successful start in college.  This program offers smaller classes and proactive academic advising.   This position will work out of the bridge center which is located in NWQ 1932.

What Duties will be performed?

  • Serve as the primary point of contact, welcoming students and other visitors to the center.
  • Deliver messages for center staff
  • Post class cancellations 
  • Support the execution of special events for the center.
  • Create flyers, bulletins and other informational content to post in the center’s space.
  • Make copies as needed for instructors.
  • Assist with other clerical projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be a UWM student.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft 365 (Preferred, but not required Microsoft 365 Word, and Excel.
  • Can create flyers and promotional content for program monitors.
  • Must be available 12-16 hours per week Monday-Thursday between the hours of 8:00am-2:30pm.

 Hourly Rate:  $11.00 per hour
