Capital Markets Associate

The Role

We're looking for a versatile finance professional who can operate as both capital markets associate. You'll split time between investor relations, market analysis, and crafting thought leadership content that positions our firm in the alternative credit ecosystem.

Capital Markets Responsibilities (60–70%)

  • Market Intelligence: Curate daily credit market briefings covering rates, consumer/SMB credit, securitization, warehouse facilities, and ABS trends
  • Investor Relations: Execute targeted outreach campaigns, manage CRM workflows (HubSpot/Salesforce/Affinity), and coordinate investor meetings
  • Materials Development: Create and refine pitch decks, LP updates, tearsheets, and data room documentation
  • Financial Modeling: Build models for warehouse economics, advance rates, loss provisioning, securitization waterfalls, and scenario analyses
  • Transaction Support: Assist with term sheet analysis, covenant matrices, and close process management for warehouse lines, forward flows, and term ABS
  • Performance Reporting: Compile monthly portfolio analytics including cohort curves, roll rates, delinquency metrics, recoveries, and IRR/MoIC
  • Deal Execution: Work directly with the Managing Partner on live transactions and investor diligence

Content & Social Media (30–40%)

  • Content Strategy: Identify trending topics in private credit, fintech, and SMB lending; translate complex credit concepts into accessible insights
  • Engagement: Monitor responses, suggest engagement opportunities, and help build our presence in the alternative credit community
  • Brand Positioning: Help shape messaging around Paperstack's differentiated approach to e-commerce lending

Who You Are

Required:

  • Finance Foundation: 1–4+ years in finance, investments, credit, or related fields (prior internships a strong plus)
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable with AI tools for workflow optimization
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional writing ability—equally comfortable drafting investor memos and social media content
  • Organized & Responsive: Disciplined CRM management, deadline-driven, minimal supervision needed
  • Market Fluency: Follow markets actively;
  • Detail-Oriented: You catch the typo, question the footnote, and surface hidden assumptions

Nice-to-Have:

  • PowerBI / Google Data Studio for data analysis and visualization
  • Prior exposure to private credit / private markets via internships or personal curiosity
  • Design sensibility (clean, investor-grade presentations)
  • Experience with Notion, Airtable, or similar productivity tools

What We Offer

  • Direct Mentorship: Daily collaboration with the Managing Partner on real transactions
  • High-Impact Work: Your materials directly influence capital allocation decisions
  • Flexibility: Remote setup with reasonable hours and path to full-time based on performance
  • Unique Exposure: Dual lens into both institutional capital markets and executive brand building
