Media Infrastructure Intern

26 Years of Independent Music with 440Music Entertainment Co
440Music has over 26 years of history supporting independent and unsigned musicians through online radio, digital services, and emerging technology. Built with a mission to give artists global exposure without traditional gatekeepers, the platform operates multiple genre-focused radio stations broadcasting 100% independent music. Beyond streaming, 440Music has evolved into a broader online services ecosystem, integrating web hosting, databases, media management, and community-driven tools to help artists, educators, and industry professionals connect and grow in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

Music Metadata and MusicBrainz
MusicBrainz is an open, community-maintained music metadata platform designed to provide accurate, standardized information about artists, releases, recordings, and works. It uses unique MusicBrainz Identifiers (MBIDs) to ensure consistency across systems and prevent duplication or ambiguity. For a music services platform, MusicBrainz enables validation and enrichment of audio file metadata by comparing embedded tags (ID3, Vorbis, FLAC, etc.) against authoritative records. When metadata is missing or incorrect, contributors can submit edits or new entries directly to MusicBrainz, improving both local libraries and the global database. Integrating MusicBrainz into a media workflow ensures long-term data integrity, reliable discovery, and compatibility with modern music applications.

Game Hosting with SteamCMD, Steam Servers, and Open Game Panel
Steam-based game hosting relies on SteamCMD, a command-line utility used to install, update, and validate dedicated game servers distributed through Steam. Steam game servers run independently of the consumer Steam client and require proper port configuration, authentication, and regular updates to remain stable and secure. Open Game Panel provides a centralized web interface that automates these tasks, allowing administrators to deploy and manage multiple Steam game servers, handle user permissions, monitor resource usage, and schedule updates. Together, SteamCMD handles the software layer while Open Game Panel manages orchestration, making scalable game hosting practical on Linux servers.

Summary
This internship role combines Linux server administration, database management, and applied research across game hosting and music metadata systems. The intern will gain hands-on experience with real-world infrastructure while contributing to the continued growth of a long-standing independent music platform. It is well-suited for someone interested in game servers, open-source tools, and the technical foundations that support modern digital media services.
