Student Administrative Assistant

The UWM Foundation’s mission is to support the educational, literary and scientific endeavors of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee by receiving, managing and distributing gifts to benefit the University’s students, faculty, programs and community. In addition, the UWM Foundation created two affiliated organizations, the UWM Real Estate Foundation and the UWM Research Foundation. The UWMREF works to develop and manage real property for the benefit of the campus and students and the UWMRF provides support to campus research and research commercialization. These three organizations work together to further the University’s mission.

In order to continue its growth, the UWM Foundation is seeking a part-time, Student Administrative Assistant. This individual will report directly to the Manager of Administrative Services and Human Resources and work closely with the Communications Assistant. This position is responsible for assisting the administrative department with a variety of duties such as answering the main phone line, receiving and directing visitors, sending gift receipts to donors, drafting letters and correspondence, distributing mail, scheduling deliveries, maintaining conference room calendars, assisting with office orders, running general office errands, assisting with meeting preparation and onsite set up for UWM Foundation Board Development Committee Meetings and a variety of other general office tasks.

The individual hired MUST be able to work 20 hours a week during the school year. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Flexible schedule to work around classes with additional hours available during winter and summer and spring breaks.

This individual will show attention to detail, have the ability to multi-task, be organized, have excellent written and oral communication, have the ability to work well with others and be proficient with Word and Excel. Experience with PowerPoint and Photoshop and graphic design knowledge a plus.
