About the Externship
This short-term externship gives you hands-on experience in instructional design, lesson creation, and real classroom teaching. You’ll receive one-on-one coaching through the entire process—from brainstorming ideas and researching learners to building and delivering a 90minute lesson on Latin American conceptual artists like Mirtha Dermisache.
On April 23rd , we will visit a high school in Plymouth and co-teach this lesson in several art and Spanish classes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student who wants to explore teaching and see if it’s a good fit, or a student who wants to learn more about Latin American visual arts and culture.
You’ll work closely with Susi Gomez Kennedy, a CLACS Faculty Fellow and SET Experiential Learning Manager who specializes in Latin American conceptual poetics and art. With years of teaching experience, Susi will guide you step-by-step and teach you how to design and deliver a lesson.
