PantherSync Assistant

Position Details

·         Located in Union Room 363 (training sessions may take place elsewhere on campus)

·         Part-time (approx. 10 hours per week)

·         End date is negotiable

·         Wage starts at $8.50 per hour 

Position Description

The PantherSync Assistant helps keep the PantherSync online system functioning efficiently by providing training to new and continuing users and updating/managing content in the system (events, forms, images, etc.). PantherSync supports 300+ student organizations and several additional special involvement opportunities. PantherSync is powered by OrgSync/Campus Labs.

PantherSync Training

·         Provide training to students, faculty and staff on the features and functions of PantherSync

·         Assist in creation and updating of video and online training elements

·         Additional trainings on specific features or for specific audiences as needed

·         Ongoing support and assistance for special involvement opportunities 

PantherSync Updates in System

·         Serve as Portal Administrator/Manager for Student Involvement portal and keep content current and fresh. Includes updating events, forms and website as needed

·         Assist with PantherSync Umbrella content and website updates. Includes promotion banner, review and approve selected requests, follow-up on Involvement Requests and Co-curricular transcript requests

·         Assist with FROGS training portal updates and management

·         Attend webinars and assist with implementation of orgsync updates 

PantherSync Organization Follow Ups

·         Serve as peer educator and expert on the PantherSync system features; assist users with solutions

·         Specific follow up communications to specific organizations and users including but not limited to: reminder of new members waiting to join, org profile issues that need to be resolved, membership list (People) clean up, updating org profile and portal information on a timely basis

·         Assist student organizations in improving the image of their organization portal using photos, images, video, news posts and the website builder 

PantherSync Outreach

·         Staff PantherSync promotional events and tables as needed

·         Assist in implementing the PantherSync marketing plan 

Student Involvement Website Updates

·         Update the Student Involvement WordPress website by adding events, forms, information, and website sliders 

Social Media

·         Assist with posting content on the Student Involvement Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest 

Other Duties

·         Assist with student organization annual renewal registration each fall

·         Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications 

Minimum Requirements: Must be a currently enrolled UW-Milwaukee student with a 2.75 GPA or higher. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of responsibility, the ability to work independently, an appreciation for confidentiality and security of sensitive information and a strong commitment to diversity and customer service. 

Essential Skills and Abilities

·         Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn the operations and services of Student Involvement, student activities and student organizations

·         Proficient, working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Internet

·         Familiar with WordPress and photo editing software (MS Paint as a minimum)

·         Ability to communicate in a clear, courteous, and professional manner 

Desired Skills and Abilities

·         Experience working in an office setting

·         Experience providing workshops or other training opportunities

·         Experience working with database and general record keeping

·         Ability to solve problems independently

·         Ability to present oneself efficiently in a professional, respectable and friendly manner when communicating with diverse customers, supervisors, co-workers, and other student staff.

·         Ability to maintain a positive attitude when learning new skills and working with challenging customers.

·         An ability to work independently and as part of a team
