Field Manager (Columbus)

Ohio Citizen Action is the only year-round canvassing organization in the state. We are excited to expand the type of canvassing our field teams engage in outside of the electoral season. The Field Managers primary role will be to engage with Ohioans through door-to-door canvassing (rain or shine!) We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about ensuring a more sustainable and equitable future for our communities. You'll work closely with your team and be an essential part of our efforts to shape the future of Ohio.  

Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with Ohioans through door-to-door canvassing, discussing issues surrounding corruption, environmental quality, public health, and clean energy. 
  • Educate and inform community members about Ohio Citizen Action’s campaigns and encourage participation and action.
  • Empower communities by raising awareness and equipping them with the tools and knowledge to tackle critical issues together.
  • Effectively utilize diverse canvassing techniques to ensure the best outcomes of Ohio Citizen Action’s campaigns.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, campaign briefings, and events. Share ideas, contribute to discussions, and help shape our strategies.
  • Accurately collect and report data from canvassing activities to help track campaign progress and impact.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, showing grit and determination to overcome challenges.
  • Ability to care deeply about current issues affecting our communities and are eager to make a difference.
  • Able to compile information and write letters
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Driver’s License (Required)
  • Able to lift up to 30lbs
  • Able to be on your feet/walk for extended periods of time
  • Valid Driver’s License – Required Ohio Citizen Action   
  • Valid Vehicle Insurance – Required 
  • Reliable Transportation - Required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. 
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the policies of OCA
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs. 
  • Must be able to talk, walk, listen and speak clearly in all situations while performing the required responsibilities of the job.
