Junior Software Developer
Junior Software Developer
SigParser is looking for a driven, curious Junior Software Developer who wants to learn fast and make a real impact early in their career.
We are a fast growing B2B SaaS startup that extracts, enriches, and acts on relationship data from email and calendar systems. Our customers are sales, marketing, and business development teams at law firms, consulting firms, financial services companies, and other relationship-driven businesses. We are growing quickly, and we are looking for someone early in their career who is eager to learn how modern software actually gets designed, built, and shipped.
This is a great fit if you have just graduated or are about to graduate, you have built things in classes, internships, or side projects, and you are excited to grow into a software engineering role alongside an experienced team that will invest in you.
If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and you want your work to make a visible impact rather than disappear into a backlog, you will fit right in here.
Location: Carlsbad, CA (in office)
Salary range: $85,000 to $100,000, depending on experience
What You'll Do (and Learn)
You will start with plenty of support and grow into more ownership over time.
- Write, test, and ship real application code in our stack, with C#/.NET on the backend and JavaScript and TypeScript on the frontend
- Build new product features and fix bugs across the codebase, with code review and mentorship from senior engineers
- Work with our PostgreSQL database, learning to write and optimize the queries that power our product
- Build backend tooling (with Claude Code) that gives the whole team better visibility into customer issues
- Help build data quality features so we can spot problems in the data we extract and enrich before they reach customers
- Learn our release process and help get your changes deployed cleanly to production
- Learn to write secure code using established best practices such as OWASP, so security becomes a normal part of how you build
- Open pull requests, review the work of teammates, and help move changes through QA before they merge
What We're Looking For
We do not expect you to have done all of this already. If you are early in your career and excited to learn, we want to hear from you.
- Strong attention to detail
- Curiosity about how systems work, and ideas for how to make them better
- Some coding experience from coursework, internships, or personal projects (any language is fine, bonus if it includes C#/.NET or SQL)
- A basic understanding of how software runs in the cloud
- Comfort with the command line and a willingness to dig into hard problems
- Clear communication and a team-first attitude
Nice to Have (Not Required)
These are bonuses, not expectations. Most junior candidates will not have many of these, and that is completely fine.
- Any experience with C#/.NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, or SQL
- Experience building web applications or working with REST APIs
- PostgreSQL or other relational database experience
- Familiarity with Git and a pull request based workflow
- Exposure to a cloud platform, especially AWS
- Internship or project work in a startup or other fast-moving environment
The Logistics
This is an in-office position in Carlsbad, CA. You will work alongside the rest of the engineering team five days per week. We believe a small, co-located team ships faster and learns faster, which also means more hands-on mentorship for you early in your career.
You must already be authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to sponsor visas (including H-1B) for this role.
Security and Trust
We handle highly sensitive customer data, and we take that seriously. We are SOC 2 certified, and you will help us stay that way. You will learn to write secure code using established best practices such as OWASP, and security will become a normal part of how you review and ship work. Because of the nature of the data you will have access to, this role requires a background check.
What We Offer
- Real ownership and real impact on a product customers genuinely rely on, with support as you grow into it
- Hands-on mentorship from an experienced engineering team that is genuinely invested in your growth
- A modern stack and modern tooling, including first-class use of AI in daily work
- A small, focused team where good work is seen and rewarded
- A mature onboarding process built to set you up for success
- Weekly team lunches
- Health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and paid vacation
