Milwaukee Repertory Theater -Next Narrative Monologue Competition Intern

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Next Narrative Monologue Competition (NNMC) Intern will take part in  recruiting, training, and supporting all administrative functions of the Milwaukee Regionals for this national competition. This is a seasonal position working between 5 and 10 hours per week from early September through mid-March They work to develop relationships with community partners and schools to ensure a great experience for our students that aligns with both Milwaukee Rep’s and the partners’ goals.

Major Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Support the implementation of Next Narrative Monologue Competition - Milwaukee Regionals.

• Recruit students to participate in both training opportunities and auditions.

• Co-teach workshops and residencies leading up to the competition.

• Assist with the development, adaptation, and implementation of curriculum for workshops and classes.

• Assist Milwaukee Rep E&E staff in student monologue coaching.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:

• Experience and/or training in theater education and administration which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

• Knowledge of, experience in, and a passion for theater.

• Experience in performing arts with high school students.

• Solid classroom management skills preferred.
