Jewish Family Services- Marketing Coordinator Intern
Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Development and Communications, the Marketing Coordinator Intern supports the Marketing & Communications team by assisting with digital marketing initiatives, website updates, social media management, content creation, and day-to-day marketing projects. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, brand management, digital communications, and community engagement while providing opportunities to build a professional portfolio.
Essential Responsibilities
Website Management
• Update website content to ensure information is accurate, current, and engaging.
• Upload news articles, event information, program updates, and other content.
• Identify opportunities to improve user experience and website performance.
Social Media
• Create engaging content for social media platforms, including graphics, photos, videos, and captions.
• Schedule and publish posts according to the organization's content calendar.
• Monitor engagement and review appropriate responses to comments or messages with Director of
Development and Communications.
• Research current trends and recommend creative ideas to increase audience engagement.
• Assist with social media analytics and performance reporting.
Marketing Support
• Assist with the development of marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, presentations, email
newsletters, and digital graphics.
• Support marketing campaigns and community events through promotional materials and communications.
• Coordinate photography and collect stories that highlight organizational impact.
• Maintain digital asset libraries and marketing files.
• Provide administrative support for marketing projects as needed.
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design,
Digital Media, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging content.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
• Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Constant Contact or similar design tools is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of website content management systems (such as WordPress) is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn.
Preferred Skills
• Understanding of social media analytics.
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
• Interest in nonprofit marketing and community engagement.
