Architecture Mentor for High School Student

We are looking for an experienced architect or architecture professional to mentor a motivated high school student who is interested in exploring architecture as a potential field of study and career.

The mentor will help the student gain a better understanding of what it is actually like to study and work in architecture, while providing guidance on how to begin developing their interests and skills.

What the Mentor Will Do

* Meet with the student for one-on-one mentorship session* Introduce the student to the architecture industry and profession* Discuss what architects actually do on a day-to-day basis and the different career paths within architecture* Share personal experiences about studying architecture and entering the profession* Explain the architecture school experience, including studio courses, design projects, critiques, and portfolios* Discuss different areas of architecture, such as residential, commercial, urban design, sustainable architecture, interior architecture, etc.* Help the student understand what skills are important for a successful architect* Review and discuss the student's interests, ideas, sketches, or early design projects* Recommend books, projects, architects, museums, websites, or other resources that could help the student
