Student Hourly Research Assistant

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position will support research activities at the Institute for Child and Family Well-being, with a focus on an evaluation of Wisconsin’s child welfare system. [http://uwm.edu/icfw/]

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.           Assist in the recruitment of survey participants.

2.           Assist with conducting phone interviews with vulnerable families.

3.           Assist with data collection.

4.           Conduct data entry and data management tasks.

5.           Participate in project team meetings.

 

APPOINTMENT:

10-20 hours/week


SPECIAL DEMANDS: Ability to communicate effectively with study participants and project team members. Ability to work independently and as a team member.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

•             Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, public health.

•             Proficiency in working with data management programs

•             Good interpersonal and communication (written and spoken) skills

•             Good organizational skills; close attention to detail.

•             Flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend interviews with study participants.
