Student Worker/Administrative-Financial Support

Associated work unit – College of Nursing

Position Summary

Part time student position within the College of Nursing, 10-20 hours/week providing financial and administrative support. Willing to work around the student school schedule, but once scheduled reliability is important. Main responsibilities will include auditing University purchasing cards, verifying posting dates and general office support. 

** Due to the nature of the work within this particular position, nursing students, or anyone taking any nursing (NURS, etc.) related courses will not be able to be considered, as some of the work to be done would pose a conflict of interest. **

Qualifications
Students must be enrolled at UW-Milwaukee. Previous experience with Microsoft Excel and an interest in financial processes preferred. Fast, accurate typing skills are required. The ideal candidates will be organized, self-motivated, independent, responsible, reliable, teachable, able to consistently follow direction and ask questions when unsure about something. Attention to detail, consistency, accuracy and ability to follow mandated procedures are important qualities. Able to maintain confidentiality of records and personally identifiable information.

Essential Duties
Essential job duties would consist of the following: utilize WISDM to verify fiscal postings, process financial related requests, filing, alphabetizing, labeling, copying, use of Word, Excel and Outlook, shredding, research, other duties as assigned, and light courier duties - sometimes daily.

Additional Duties
As assigned.

Physical Requirements
Much of the position requires sitting at a desk and performing repetitive duties with speed and accuracy. There is also some walking and performing courier duties on campus - sometimes daily.

Special Conditions
This position is not open to nursing students as some of the work to be done would pose a conflict of interest.
