Graphic Design and Marking Intern

The Career Planning & Resource Center (CPaRC) is seeking a focused, self-motivated, team player who will support the efforts of the students, prospective students, alumni, employers, and other customers of the center through quality, timely communications and event marketing. Primary responsibility is to design marketing materials for the CPaRC and to ensure the cohesiveness and effectiveness of CPaRC communications, with a particular focus on the CPaRC website and social media. The successful candidate will strive to ensure the coordination of CPaRC’s communications and branding efforts, including online publications, e-mail marketing, social media and print.

Graphic Design, Communication and Marketing

  1. Create engaging publicity for CPaRC events, website, and social media content
  2. Develop marketing materials for events, provide social media outreach and analytics for Employer Partners in collaboration with CPaRC event planning staff
  3. Collaborate with Union Marketing to submit publicity marketing, coordinate marketing initiatives, and ensure orders are deployed as planned
  4. Manage CPaRC’s social media accounts and maintain an active presence on social media for CPaRC, writing and updating content on a regular basis and ensuring posting of all news and events
  5. Write and schedule mass and targeted emails to promote events and services to students and alumni

Website

  1. Monitor the CPaRC website and update content as necessary
  2. Collaborate with CPaRC staff to research and develop new web content, including interactive options
  3. Serve as key point of interaction for external contacts requesting connection on CPaRC website
  4. Ensure appropriate and timely efforts with information technology support staff, including those supervising web analytics

Other Duties

  1. Consult and meet with supervisor on a regular basis to ensure consistency of effort
  2. Attend and assist with CPaRC related events as directed by supervisor

 

Required Qualifications

A current student in Communications, Design and Visual Communication, Marketing, English, Journalism, Information Technology, or other related major. Must have experience with web publishing, marketing and social media.

Additional Qualifications include:

  • Experience with design related software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or Publisher
  • The ability to work within a team environment and independently
  • Creative problem solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  •  Strong attention to detail
  • Strong task completion and Initiative to develop new programs
 

Compensation & Hours

  • Hourly salary rate is $11-$12/hour depending on experience
  •  Expected 15-20 hours a week
