ATRIUM - FOOD SERVICE WORKER
Position will begin on August 20, 2018 at the earliest. Classes begin on September 4, 2018 but employees are required to attend one paid training day between August 20-31.
Union Atrium Food Service Workers: Those filling these positions will be expected to perform all or some of the duties assigned by the Atrium Supervisors. Student employees are expected to work through the final exam period of the semester.
Qualifications: Must be a college student who is currently enrolled in classes and are willing to learn how to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with many coworkers. Must follow all posted safety and sanitary guidelines for food handling safety.
Essential duties: As a food service worker, you must assist with all phases of food preparation for sandwiches, wraps, bakery items and ice cream, pizza, and stir fry entrees. In addition, you must set up serving stations including utensils, food, supplies, and condiments while following all instructions for food area sanitation safety.
Additional Duties: Maintain beverage station dispensers, refill as necessary; replenish condiments and serving utensils; clear and clean tables periodically; perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, and be able to stand for long periods of time (4 hours); must be able to safely utilize kitchen tools and maneuver throughout a kitchen environment.
As a food service worker, excellent customer service and accuracy is top priority. There is potential for cross-training if needed and you should be flexible with unit placement. No prior work experience is necessary but is preferred, specific on-the-job paid training is provided for all employees.

Applicant’s availability may affect their eligibility for positions – workers are especially needed during lunch hours. Scheduling is flexible and works around class schedule. There is a 25 hour cap per week for all student employees and the minimum hours that must be worked is 8 hours/week.
