STUDENT DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT

Does helping UWM connect with alumni, community members and businesses for charitable gifts in support of our mission interest you? How about working with the fund development professional in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning (SARUP) dedicated to helping UWM realize its vision? Have you ever considered a career in fund development and want to get some real world experience? 
 
If so, consider applying for the part-time Student Development Assistant position available through the UWM Office of Development & Alumni Relations. The department has Development Directors assigned to and located at schools/colleges/units across campus and is looking to hire a part-time student worker to support the work in the SARUP. The Student Development Assistant will work under the supervision of the Development Director and be located in the SARUP building, room 220. The precise work-schedule for the position will vary and be flexible, provided it fits within the standard “UWM day” (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday). This position is for 10 to 12 hours per week.
 
Student Development Assistants have the following responsibilities: Write/edit solicitation/acknowledgement letters to donors/prospects; compile data to support donor meetings and grant requests; provide event planning support for donor cultivation/stewardship events; draw information from and update donor database; provide general office assistance such as copying, filing, mailing and scheduling.

Applicants should be detail-oriented, focused, accurate, pro-active, well-organized, eager to learn, self-motivated, have the utmost respect for confidentiality and be able to work quietly. They should have excellent time management and communication skills and a strong familiarity with standard office technologies and programs (MS Office suite). They should also demonstrate maturity and professionalism.
