Panther Card Office Assistant/Student Worker

Students who work in the Panther Card Office are typically outgoing, self-motivated, helpful and inquisitive. Many times they are the first to welcome new students to campus and therefor have the opportunity to share their UWM knowledge.

Position Description: Student workers are responsible for issuing PantherCards, staff identification badges and voter registration cards, among other things. Student workers will learn customer service, cash handling and technical skills that will position themselves for professional employment. 

This convenient 8-14 hour per week on campus job offers a flexible schedule between 9a-6p Monday – Friday with some weekend and evening hours. The office is conveniently located in the Student Union with $9.00 / hour starting pay. Ideal student employees will be familiar with the PantherCard, Housing meal plans, Gold Account and have participated in a new student orientation. Responsibilities:
• Contribute to a positive and engaged working environment
• Greet and assist all students, staff and visitors
• Educate the UWM community on all things related to the Panther Card 
• Issue Panther Cards following all appropriate University policies
• Troubleshoot Panther One Card issues
• Answer questions, provide direction and share your UWM expertise 
• Receive customer deposits and appropriately post them to customer accounts
• process paperwork, issue guest cards and perform other duties as needed 
• Handle incoming phone calls, emails and other communications
• Manage files, update paperwork and maintain a clean office environment

Required Qualifications:
• Must be a currently enrolled UW-Milwaukee student
• Must be willing to learn and be responsive to direction
• Must put job responsibilities before personal initiatives
• Good academic standing

Preferred Qualifications:
• Effective and efficient time management and ability to multi-task
• Identifying student needs and matching them with available resources
• Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn the operations and services of Panther Cards and UWM
