Restaurant Operations - Cashier

Hiring for the Spring 2019 semester.

Union Atrium Cashiers: Those filling these positions will be expected to perform all or some of the duties assigned by the Atrium Supervisors. Student employees are expected to work through the final exam period of the semester.

Qualifications: Must be a college student who is currently enrolled in classes and are willing to learn how to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with many coworkers. Must be comfortable handling money and credit cards.

Essential duties: As a cashier you must operate the cash register, be able to recognize food and drink items sold, prepare various reports, and periodically wipe down tables in the area surrounding the register. It is also expected that excellent customer service must be given to every customer.
Physical requirements: Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and be able to stand for long periods of time (4 hours).

Additional duties: Maintain beverage station dispensers, refilling as necessary, replenish condiments and serving utensils, perform other duties as asked by a supervisor.
 
As a cashier, excellent customer service and accuracy is top priority. There is potential for cross-training if needed and you should be flexible with unit placement. No prior work experience is necessary but is preferred, specific on-the-job paid training is provided for all employees.

Applicant’s availability may affect their eligibility for positions – workers are especially needed during lunch hours. Scheduling is flexible and works around class schedule. There is a 25 hour cap per week for all student employees and the minimum hours that must be worked is 8 hours/week.
