Starting Pay Range: $8.50-$9.50/hour based on experience.

UWM's Eatery (RiverView Cafe) will be opening up in mid-August of 2019. Come join our team at a conveniently located off-campus building. RiverView Cafe is located within UWM RiverView Resident Hall on 2340 N Commerce St, Milwaukee, WI 53212. The shuttle runs to and from campus every 10-15 minutes.

We work around your schedule with convenient 4-6 hour shifts 7 days a week 6:00am-8:00pm. Each employee gets their own personalized schedule! 

Raises are given based on performance and attendance during end of semester evaluations. Are you a leader? There are opportunities to become a student supervisor! You may, at times, be assigned to help in another Restaurant Operations unit.

Position Summary:
This position will be expected to perform all or some of the following duties as assigned by the area supervisor. Cashier, Deli, Prep Cook, Serving, etc.

Essential Duties:
Food Preparation-Assist with all phases of food preparation for salads, sandwiches, beverages, entrees, soup and specialty items; maintain sanitation standards and portion control per instructions. FOOD Serving-Set up serving stations including utensils, food, dishes, supplies and condiments; Maintain sanitation standards per instructions.

Additional Duties:
Maintain beverage station dispensers, refill as necessary; replenish condiments and serving utensils; complete required reports; clear and clean dining area tables after each meal period; perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, and be able to stand for long periods of time (4 hours); must be able to safely utilize kitchen tools and maneuver throughout a kitchen environment.

Food Products and Work Environment:
There are no areas within the cafe that an employee may not come in contact with meat including chicken, beef, fish, bacon, and sausage. We can't guarantee the areas of work that are little more limited in handling meat (i.e. cashier, busing). A food service worker is going to need to be able to handle, serve, and process meats. The general working environment is fast paced, knife handling, use of steam, use of hot oil, hot pan handling, potential slippery floors, etc.
