Employer Relations Intern

Salary: $10-$12/per hour, based on experience

Position Description:

The Employer Relations Intern will assist with event planning, student and employer outreach initiatives and are expected to fulfill the following responsibilities:

Event planning duties: 50%
  • Update student and employer post fair surveys
  • Prepare student packets, employer folders, and other documents for each fair
  • Collaborate with Career Resource Assistants to distribute fair marketing across campus
  •  Assist with staging career services’ events, the day/evening before the event
  • Attend logistics meetings for fair preparation, focus groups and other meetings
  • Coordinate the tracking of shipped materials for each of the fairs, including logging, marking material, and staging it at the event

Administrative duties: 40%
  • Analyze post fair survey data
  • Compile inventory list for career fair supplies
  • Distribute professional headshots to career fair participants
  • Screen employer account registrations and job postings in Handshake
  •  Research employers for specific projects to increase employer connections to undergraduate
  • Manage CPaRC social media to advertise career events and engage students 
  •  Communicate with employers in person, via telephone or email and respond to event related inquires
Other job-related duties as assigned 10%

Required Qualifications:
  • Satisfactory academic standing
  • High level of professionalism, demonstrated reliability, ethical conduct, and
  • Creative problem solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to cooperate in team efforts, as well as work autonomously
  • Interpersonal skills demonstrated through in person, phone and e-mail
  • Ability to manage time and adhere to deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of an office setting 
  • Experience in accurate data entry, detail orientation, and self-correcting
  • Prior involvement in student affairs, career services and/or campus activities
  • Enthusiasm for delivering high-quality service and willingness to take initiative
  • Comfort in using Microsoft Word and Excel and able to learn other software programs

Hours: varies, typically 10-18 per week
