First Year Mentor in College of Engineering & Applied Sciences

Mentors work an average of 10 hours per week and earn a starting wage of $10.00/hr. Applicants must be majoring in Engineering or Computer Science, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, a minimum 3.0 GPA in CEAS courses, and demonstrate content area knowledge and study skills, and desire to help peers improve study skills and find success in the course. First Year Mentors will be required to facilitate group study sessions and assist with outreach to first year engineering students. Mentors must commit to attending a training at the beginning of each semester, commit to working in the First Year Center for at least 2 semesters, and commit to working a minimum of 5 hours per week.

·        Must be enrolled for credit at UWM
·        3.0 GPA or better
·       3.0 GPA in CEAS Courses
·       Majoring in the College of Engineering and Applied Science
