UREC Operations Attendant

***We are currently hiring for Fall 2019. Our fall schedule begins on Tuesday, August 27th.

There will be some mandatory meetings and trainings you must attend before Tuesday, August 27th in order to be scheduled for the Fall 2019 semester.

Please include an attachment of your fall semester availability with your application AND state when you can begin training for the position.

Position Description: The Operations Attendant is responsible for working in one of 3 areas: Information Center (IC), Equipment Room (ER), or Facility Services Worker (FSW).

Qualifications: Must be available to work 8-12 hours per week including rotating weekend shifts. Must demonstrate leadership, communication and customer service skills and the ability to work with staff, students and members of a diverse background. Also, must attend all UREC training and orientation sessions.

Essential Duties: Greet and welcome patrons and guests to the Klotsche Center and Pavilion with a pleasant and positive attitude. Control access to the KCP by using the Membership Pass Validation section of the Membership Management System. Launder, fold, and put away towels and rags. Clean equipment (such as racquetball goggles, etc.) Sell rentals for daily towels, locks, racquetball equipment using Point of Sale in the membership management system. Answer questions and give directions to patrons needing assistance. Enforce and abide by UREC policies and follow UREC procedures.

Additional Duties: Complete other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to give walking tours of the building. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively with patrons and coworkers.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  2. Pleasant disposition and ability to promote a positive image of UREC and UWM. 
  3. Willingness to learn. 
  4. Ability to stay motivated and on task with minimal direction. 
  5. Basic knowledge of recreational and leisure time activities and skills.
