Student Development Assistant

If so, please consider applying for the part-time Student Development Assistant position available through the UWM Office for Development & Alumni Relations. Our office is looking for energetic and proactive individuals who can assist with general office support, campaign support, and working directly with Senior Development officers on special initiatives on behalf of UW-Milwaukee.

The Student Development Assistant will work under the supervision of the Executive Director to the Vice Chancellor located in the beautiful Hefter Conference Center on Lake Drive and Hartford Avenue. Hours for this position will vary and offer flexibility based on your class schedule. General UWM office hours are from 8:00 – 4:30pm Monday through Friday. This position will be 10 – 15 hours per week.

Student Development Assistant duties will include and are not limited to: Writing/editing solicitation/acknowledgement letters to donors/prospects; compiling data to support donor meetings and grant requests; providing event planning support for donor cultivation/stewardship events; drawing information from and updating donor database; providing general office assistance such as copying, filing, mailing and scheduling.

Applicants should be detail-oriented, focused, proactive, well-organized, eager to learn, have the utmost respect for confidentiality and be able to work quietly. Applicants should have excellent time management and communication skills and a strong familiarity with standard office technologies and programs (MS Office suite.)

Requirements for this position include:
• Preferred cumulative GPS of 3.0 or above
• Preferred majors:  Marketing, Business, Communication, English, Non-Profit Management, JAMS or Education
• Sophomore status or above
