Student Website Developer

UWM College of Letters & Science (L&S) Web and Data office is seeking a motivated student with experience in the maintenance, revitalization, and/or creation of websites in WordPress or similar web development/CMS tool. This is primarily a front-end developer position, focused on design and maintenance of sites within the UWM brand.  

Applicants must have experience with both HTML and CSS, and must possess excellent grammatical and proofreading skills. Basic image manipulation experience using Adobe Photoshop is highly desired. Understanding how to use GitLab and the Tag Manager in Google Analytics is a plus, but not required. 

Applicants must be interested in projects that involve collaboration with web team members, L&S administration, faculty, and academic staff. Good communication skills in this collaborative environment is essential. It is anticipated that our new hire will divide their time between website maintenance and collaboration with the L&S websites’ stakeholders to update and/or redesign their respective websites. 

Applicants must be an enrolled UWM student in good academic standing and be able to work approximately 15–20 hours per week during spring and fall semesters. Our student developers commit to a custom work schedule between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with the understanding that their class schedule and education are their main priorities. 

Summer employment up to 40 hours per week is also available.
