Career Resource Assistant - Career Planning & Resource Center

It’s on-campus, so we accommodate your class schedule
Starting pay is $9.00 per hour, with raises possible within 6 months
Normal working time is between 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday
 
Career Resource Assistants (CRAs) are the first point of contact for students, prospective students, and alumni, staffing the office reception desk during office hours, and supporting outreach efforts.
 
General Duties: 
  • General office and clerical duties, including opening and closing duties for the lobby
  • Welcome students, alumni, and perspective students and complete check-in procedures when needed 
  • Explain services and resources available in the Career Planning and Resource Center (CPaRC) 
  • Provide high quality customer services to all customers, including students, faculty, staff and employers  
  • Maintain accurate database records for walk-in and phone appointments   
  • Assist CPaRC full-time staff with projects and events, including job and career fairs 
  • Represent CPaRC at information tables for events such as; student orientations, job and career fairs, and various UWM resource fairs             

Qualifications:  
  • High quality written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail is vital 
  • Knowledge in using Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel  
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision 
  • Experience working in customer service
  • Understanding of an office setting 
  • Possession of or a desire to develop: self-initiative, problem solving, and critical thinking skills 
  • Ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds
  • Be an enrolled student at UWM in good academic standing (ideally 2.5 GPA)

Training will begin August 2, 2021.
