Student Worker (general assignments), Dean's Office in the College of Letters & Science

The Dean's Office in the College of Letters & Science, located in Holton Hall, is seeking a student worker to fill a general assignment, part-time position. Student workers serve as general helpers around the office.

Both a strong body and a strong mind are needed, since job duties focus on moving furniture, equipment and boxes; delivering items around campus; and light industrial work involving tools such as assembling and mounting bulletin boards or making small repairs. This is the main portion of the job versus computer-based work.

Other duties may be assigned such as data entry, data processing, filing and other miscellaneous office tasks. However, the physical portions of the job are the primary duties over this type of office work.

The ideal candidate will be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 lbs and be familiar with the use of basic tools including hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc. Applicant must be able to work independently. Some experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is helpful.

This position is a year-long role for 2020. Students graduating in May or August 2020 are not eligible. Applicants must be enrolled at UWM for spring and fall semesters; non-UWM students are also not eligible.
