Student Engagement Ambassador - Remote this semester

SUMMARY: Do you love UWM and have Panther Black and Gold in your blood? Student Engagement Ambassadors contact alumni, parents and friends of UWM to share their enthusiasm for UWM, their Panther experiences and campus updates, update alumni information, strengthen relationships and ask for financial support for the UWM Annual Fund.

As a Student Engagement Ambassador, you'll have the opportunity to build your resume by building and enhancing skills highly valued in many careers including communications, public relations, fundraising and marketing skills, and you'll get to network with alumni in various professions all across the United States. 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsibilities include calling alumni, parents and friends of the University to ask for their financial support of the UWM Annual Fund;
  • Providing accurate information, making changes whenever necessary and obtain donations.
  • Gathering and updating important information about alumni; accepting and processing pledges and demographic updates in a computer-based contact management system;
  • Building relationships and gathering feedback from alumni.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must exhibit enthusiasm in support of the University
  • Must be conversational and demonstrate excellent phone skills and calling behavior, tact, professionalism, accuracy, punctuality and follow directions as a team player.
  • Must be fluent in English and have the ability to communicate exceptionally well in person, via telephone and via email.
  • Must possess a high degree of manual dexterity, mobile and able to function in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Must be able to work remotely, at least 3 shifts per week, which requires access to a computer & webcam, work area free from excessive background noise and high speed internet access.
  • Must be able to come to campus to complete new hire paperwork in person

SCHEDULE: ALL SHIFTS WILL BE REMOTE (SYNCHRONOUS) FOR Spring 2021. Laptop computer required. Convenient and flexible evening and weekend hours that won't interfere with your daytime classes. Must be available for at least 3 of the following shifts per week during the semester (approx 10.5 hrs/wk):
  • Monday through Thursday from 5:30-9:00pm
  • Sunday from 12-3:30pm

PAY: $8.50/hour plus bonus pay opportunities each shift and on a monthly basis, semester raises, promotion opportunities.
