College For Kids & Teens - Supply Support Student

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support to the CFK&T team and instructors by organizing, packing and delivering supply boxes and other needed materials for classroom uses in the UWM College for Kids & Teens summer program. The position functions with a good deal of independence in terms of daily activities and decision making, and also requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Primary responsibilities of the position include:
 
·        Assist in the organization of classroom supplies, materials and equipment
·        Work within a system to organize and distribute materials
·        Delivery and pick-up supplies as needed
·        Provide quality customer service for students/participants, external organizations and internal departments
·        Provide phone coverage and manage incoming calls (as needed)
·        Type, edit and file documents and compile mailings
·        Operate business equipment including copy, scan and fax machines
·        Assist with opening and/or closing programs (All programs if needed)
·        Assist with dismissal and break periods (Summer)
·        Before care and or after care (Summer)
·        Assist with special projects and duties as needed
 
Qualities/Experience
·        Excellent customer service skills
·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·        Demonstrated organizational ability and time management skills
·        Willingness to learn and perform a wide and changing variety of tasks
·        Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite: Word, Access, Excel
·        Detail oriented; Accuracy and resourcefulness (problem solve) are essential
·        Motivation and ability to work within a cooperative, self-directed, fast-paced workgroup
·        Maturity; ability to work in a professional environment
·        Previous office or similar experience preferred
·        Work Study preferred, but not required
·        Abiltiy to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs (as needed)
Pay Rate & Hours
·        Minimum 20-25 hours commitment requested, during the school year (May-June). Summer hours 40 plus 7:00am-4:00pm & plus. Sometimes weekends (State Fair)
·        Schedule Monday- Friday. between 8am and 6:30pm (flexible)
·        Range $9.00-$11.00 starting based on experience and qualifications, based on experience (Excellent performance provides opportunity for advancement)
