CIE Front Office Assistant

The Center for International Education Office is a fast-moving environment with a variety of units within the center. The Office Assistant is expected to learn basic details about all the CIE departments, and be ready to provide excellent customer service to a wide variety of students, faculty, staff and other constituents in a fast-paced and interactive environment. Tasks include: welcoming and assisting staff, faculty, international, and study abroad students in the office, setting up appointments with appropriate team members, and possible other office duties based on employees strengths.

Department Description: Center for International Education (CIE): CIE is home to a wide array of programs and services including international student and scholar admission and immigration advising; study abroad and student exchange programs, and public programming and K-12 international education outreach.

Hours: Part-Time and flexible, up to 20 hours per week in the summer and between 10-20 hours per week during the semester. Students must have a minimum two-hour block of time in their schedule per work shift to devote to the office. Our open office hours for fall will be 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, though there may rarely be voluntary additional Friday hours, night, and weekend hours. Applicants must be available during our open hours to be considered for this position. The office is open year-round, and we expect students to be available to work all year, though students can take unpaid approved vacation time. Because of the limitations for student hours for on-campus employment, students are not allowed to have another campus job in addition to their work at CIE.
