Be On the Safe Side (B.O.S.S.) is UWM's late-night, safe-ride service for students. B.O.S.S. is open daily from 6 pm - 2 am during the regular semester. A driver’s job is to safely transport students around the Milwaukee and Shorewood area in roughly a two-mile radius from campus. Drivers must always be focused on safety, including obeying the rules-of-the-road, adhering to UWM and departmental rules, and identifying situations that could escalate into a more serious situation. Qualities of a B.O.S.S. driver include: safety-minded, dependable/reliable, customer-focused, friendly, polite and being a solid communicator. Knowledge of the area is a plus. Applicants must be available to work between 5:30PM and 2:30AM on at least two nights per week; weekend shifts and late shifts are required. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license for at least two years (if a Wisconsin license is held, it must be a Regular license, not Probationary) and have no more than two moving violations in a three-year period. Video interviews will be held over Microsoft Teams. Resume encouraged but not required.
