UNION - Mechanic - Building Operations

SHIFTS AVAILABLE BETWEEN 7:30AM AND 11PM
Student mechanics will assist full-time maintenance staff with a variety of tasks, including repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building fixtures and equipment. Scope of work includes carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and preventative maintenance tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Replace light bulbs
- Repair and replace ceiling tile
- Temperature monitoring and adjustment
- Assessment and repair of furniture, fixtures, and equipment
- Routine maintenance of building equipment and systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to demonstrate common sense and logic when conducting maintenance operations
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- An interest in learning, especially building functions and maintenance operations
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have good vision
- Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in confined and dusty spaces
- Must be comfortable working on ladders and lifts
- Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather
