Tutor, Upward Bound Math & Science

Seeking tutors for Upward Bound Math & Science academic pre-college program. UBMS students are 9th-12th grade students, low-income and/or will be first generation college students. Tutors with a strong interest may be extended through graduation.
 
Tutors should be interested in serving the Milwaukee community and working with high school students. Priority is given to TRIO-eligible students (low-income and first generation college students). Applicants should include a cover letter explaining why you are interested in serving students in Milwaukee, unofficial transcript and resume.
 
Tutor responsibilities may include: explaining problems, helping students with homework, testing student’s knowledge of subject, recording students’ progress and other duties as assigned.
 
Applicants need at least sophomore standing, and an overall GPA of 2.75 or higher. Must be able to tutor high school students in 2-3 of the following subjects:
· Language Arts
· Writing
· History
· Economics 
· Biology 
· Chemistry
· Physics
· Earth Science
· Algebra II/Trigonometry
· Geometry
· Precalculus
· Calculus
· Spanish
· French
· German
Days: Monday-Thursday 3:45pm-6:00pm when UWM class is in session
Location: Currently virtual, UW-Milwaukee campus (hopefully in person in the spring semester)
Hours: Flexible, up to 10 hours per week
Pay: $9/hour
