Program Coordnator

Title of the Position: Program Coordinator 
Department: Office of Student Life—Women’s Resource Center (WRC)  
Reports to: WRC Assistant Director 
 
Mission: We use an intersectional lens to advocate for the education, empowerment, and agency of women-identified students. 
 
Overview: WRC Program Coordinators are responsible for the daily operations of the WRC as well as coordinating small-scale programs for the Center. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Plan, implement, attend, and evaluate WRC programming (e.g., Juntas, I’m First, She’s First, We’re First Sisters Like Me). 
  • Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and informative environment for the campus community. 
  • Orient visitors to the WRC's on-site and web-based resources, including but not limited to: the lending library, website, and additional services available through the WRC. 
  • Assist with daily administrative and clerical tasks, including but not limited to: making copies, scanning documents, data entry, word processing, delivering items to other UWM offices, and other miscellaneous tasks. 
  • Oversee a positive presentation of the office as a clean, comfortable, functional space. 
  • Oversee administrative functions related to the WRC lending library; research and acquire new material and integrate into our library. 
  • Manage the UWM Union lactation room; assist walk-in users to the physical space.  
  • Attend mandatory weekly WRC staff meetings, bi-weekly one-on-one meetings, mandatory staff trainings, as well as participating in professional development. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow Title IX reporting procedures. 
  • Other duties assigned.
 
Qualifications 
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills; comfortable developing and leading programs, as well as managing assigned volunteers 
  • Comfortable with responding to and intervening in student crisis situations 
  • Willingness to work with diverse and culturally pluralistic staff and student populations 
  • Interpersonal skills (ability to interact effectively and enthusiastically with others)   
  • Ability to develop/demonstrate cultural competencies  
  • Experience doing social justice or advocacy work and/or feminist or gender studies related coursework  
  • Must be an enrolled student 
  • Flexible schedule; requires a minimum of 10 hours commitment per week.   
  • Anticipated start date January 2021, rate $9.00/hour
