We are currently looking for someone to work Thursdays 1-4pm as well as pick up additional shifts as a sub for the Spring Semester.

Position Summary:

Provide a high level of customer service while supervising the UREC Fitness Center, enforcing all Fitness Center policies, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and being available to provide member assistance during shift.

Qualifications:
  • Must be available to work 8-12 hours per week including occasional weekends
  • Must demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills 
  • Must be willing to work with staff, students and members of a diverse background 
  • Must be willing to maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Must have or complete First Aid/CPR/AED Certification within 3 months of hire

Essential Duties:
  • Provide excellent and friendly customer service at all times
  • Welcome, greet and provide assistance to Fitness Center users
  • Supervise all activities within the Fitness Center
  • Enforce all UREC Fitness Center policies to facility users
  • Ensure fitness center is clean and orderly
  • Complete all assignments on shift checklist
  • Record usage statistics every hour
  • Provide basic instruction to patrons of safe and proper use of all cardiovascular and weight training equipment (this is not providing training advice)
  • Thoroughly complete all trouble reports and give to the maintenance supervisor
  • Report all injuries, vandalism, equipment needs and problems immediately to the Building Manager
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all available fitness and wellness programs
  • Inform users of any upcoming UREC sponsored programs 
  • Support and participate in other programs offered by UREC
  • Attend and actively participate in all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions 
  • Execute emergency procedures when necessary
