UNION Copywriter & Social Media 

Union Marketing Copywriters research, brainstorm, write and edit promotional copy for clients and various social media platforms. Copywriters are responsible for proofreading for typographical errors and ascertaining correct grammar, punctuation and word usage, in addition to creating dynamic and persuasive copy for marketing purposes. Must have experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

-      High-level writing and editing skills, including spelling and grammar

-      Attention to grammatical nuance and familiarity with AP Style

-      Ability to listen, receive facts and information, and create/articulate messages

-      Current writing samples demonstrative of writing ability (from last 30 – 60 days)

-      Ability to turn out high-quality, creative content at a fast pace

-      Interest in popular culture, past and present

-      Enthusiasm for campus life / Proud to be a Panther

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

-      Sophomore, Junior or Senior in English, Marketing, Journalism or Communication fields

-      Prefer prior experience writing ad copy/marketing content in addition to long form writing projects (press releases/formal essays/newspaper articles/creative non-fiction)

-      Thorough knowledge and understanding of social media platforms

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

-      Collaborate with colleagues, clients and Marketing Specialists in developing innovative marketing campaigns and strategies, with accompanying copy and adapting copy to clients’ needs

-      Check spelling, punctuation, grammar, word flow, logical sentence structuring, adhere to AP style

-      Research and fact-check with multiple sources (event dates/times/locations, statistics, names, etc.)

-      Build and maintain social media followers, including developing content, scheduling updates, maintaining brand consistency, and compiling and evaluating analytics
