WRC Communications Coordinator

Title of the Position: WRC Communications Coordinator  

Department: Office of Student Life—Women’s Resource Center (WRC)  

Reports to: WRC Assistant Director 

Mission: We use an intersectional lens to advocate for the education, empowerment, and agency of women-identified folks. 

Overview: Our work is to maintain a welcoming, inclusive and informative environment for the campus community. As student employees you are often the first point of contact for visitors. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Identify and respond to the needs of WRC visitor by referring visitors to appropriate resources and/or performing WRC services (e.g. lactation room, lending library, communal space) 

Using social media marketing tools to create and maintain the center’s brand on Instagram and Facebook 

Interacting with constituents and other stakeholders via the center’s social media accounts 

Analyzes the center’s digital marketing plan and social media strategy and identifies strategic weaknesses while noting improvement plans 

Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns, such as targets for a certain number of shares or likes and measuring a campaign’s performance against the KPIs as well as presenting this assessment during monthly social media reports  

Research social media trends and inform management of changes that are relevant to the center’s marketing activities  

Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our website 

Create website layout/user interface and Integrate data from back-end services and databases such as Word Press 

Attend and support assigned programming, including possible evening and/or weekend events  

Attend weekly professional and student staff meetings as well as weekly check ins with your direct supervisor  

Qualifications 

Ability to demonstrate leadership and organizational skills. 

Comfortable communicating and corresponding to a large network of constituents 

Comfortable with responding to and intervening in student crisis situations, 

Willingness to work with diverse and culturally pluralistic students and staff 

Interpersonal skills (ability to interact effectively and enthusiastically with others) 

Ability to develop /demonstrate cultural competencies 

Experience with social justice work and/or related coursework 

Must be an enrolled undergraduate student 

Flexible scheduling requires a maximum of 10 hours commitment per week.
