Land Preservation Intern

Are you passionate about environmental conservation and eager to make a difference? The Land Preservation Office within the Division of Parks and Recreation at DNREC is looking for 2 enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Land Preservation Interns!

 

About Us: At the Land Preservation Office, we're dedicated to conserving Delaware's natural resources and promoting environmental stewardship. As part of the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), we oversee programs such as the Open Space Program, Conservation Easement Program, and Natural Areas Preservation Program. Our work involves protecting and managing Delaware's diverse landscapes, ensuring they thrive for generations to come.

 

What You'll Do: As a Land Preservation Intern, you'll dive into hands-on projects and gain valuable experience in environmental conservation. From monitoring conservation easements to conducting site visits in nature preserves, you'll play a vital role in preserving Delaware's natural beauty. You'll also have the opportunity to develop skills in GIS mapping, engage with local communities through outreach initiatives, and contribute to important research projects.

  • Pursuing a degree or interest in environmental science, natural resource management, geography, or related fields (preferred but not required).
