Accessibility Resource Center Student HUB and Sensory Space Assistant
Job Description
This (graduate or doctoral student only) position within the Accessibility Resource Center is responsible for providing a high level of customer service to faculty, staff, and students in a community space for students with disabilities.
ARC’s Student Hub and Sensory Spaces is a community space for students with disabilities, however, all UWM faculty, staff, and students are welcome.
Applicants that identify as disabled and/or have experience with the disabled community, exhibit a high degree of integrity and reliability, and are pursuing an advanced degree within the following area of study are encouraged to apply:

Essential Job Duties
- Prepare the Hub and Sensory Spaces for the day
- Turn on bubble lamps, lava lamp, projectors, and noise machine
- Confirm that rooms are clean and organized.
- Welcome visitors, provide excellent customer service
- Refer to sign-in / sign-out sheet
- Provide a tour and explanation of each room, if requested
- Close the Hub and Sensory Spaces for the day
- Turn off bubble lamps, lava lamps, projectors, and noise machines
- Confirm that rooms are empty of students, clean, and organized
- Replace sign-in / sign-out sheet if needed
- Monitor inventory and alert supervisor when replacement items are needed.
- Sanitize surfaces, doorknobs, and other touchable items
- Monitor garbage levels and bring garbage to the large garbage bin in the hallway.

- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Maintain a positive attitude while working with faculty, staff, and students.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- At the time of hire, the student must possess and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and experience in providing superior customer service, often under stressful conditions.
