Graduate Student Services Associate

Job description

This is a DUAL position for both front desk and our marketing/recruitment office. Therefore, we ask that you

are able to complete the following tasks:

•   Answering phone calls and e-mails for both students and applicants at the Graduate 

School

•   Manage running of Graduate Student Visit program

•   Give campus tours to prospective graduate students and their guests

•   Data entry of prospective student inquiries

•   Assist in updating and maintaining electronic and paper records in the campus CRM and the Graduate School front desk

•   Organize recruiting and marketing materials

•   Assist in preparing for meetings and events, booking rooms, ordering IT equipment, etc.

•   Assist in marketing efforts such as writing email copy

•   Assist in day-of event operations

•   Fulfilling transcript orders

•   Opening and distributing mail throughout the Graduate School office

•   Operating cash register and running closing report

•   Processing enrollment verifications, transcript orders, and other paperwork as needed at the front desk

•   Responding to voicemails and following up with student/applicant inquiries

•   Utilizing Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel

•   Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

•   Basic computer and software skills required

•   Excellent communication skills

•   Experience in customer service/reception

•   High degree of accountability and attention to detail required

•   Positive attitude

•   Reliability

•   Willingness to work as part of a team

You must be an enrolled student at UWM (Winterim and Summer semesters are not necessary) and have availability during our operating hours on Thursday and Friday, from 8:30-4:30pm. This is not just a position during the school year, but year-round.
